Fall Blaze ride benefits FLC Cycling team

The event offers three different tour options of 37 miles, 60 miles, and 100 miles, each beginning and ending at the Dale Rea Clocktower in the center of the Fort Lewis College campus. The tour starts when the Clocktower rings 8 a.m., and a police escort leads the riders out from the center of campus. There are five food/aid stations along the way, support vehicles on the course, and a party at the finish line back in the center of campus.

Since the event is as much about community as riding, the event features the Fabulous Fall Blaze Packet Pickup Party and a celebratory lunch at the finish line in the center of the Fort Lewis College campus. Participants also receive a commemorative t-shirt and pin.

All proceeds benefit the Cycling Scholarship at Fort Lewis College. The scholarship is dedicated to rising young cyclists. Each scholarship benefits a Cycling team rider who embodies a love for the sport, maintains a 2.7 or higher GPA, and is an active community member.

The ridership is limited to ensure a quality event, and pre-registration is required to participate in the Fall Blaze. To register, see a schedule, or learn more, visit the Durango Fall Blaze website.
