Subjects: Petroglyphs--Photographs; Montrose County (Colo.)
Notes: Numerous initials have been carved into the rock face along with images of people and people on horses possibly herding cattle. Other images have been carved into the rock but are difficult to see. Shavano Valley Rock Art Site is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places. The site contains numerous rock art panels that date from at least 1000 B.C. through approximately 1881. Two numbers written on sleeve 1229-1229A and (more recently) 439. Also typed on sleeve is "Picture Rock dry Creek Branch" with "Creek Branch" crossed out. Hand-written "Cushman Cr" is below this.
