Sustainability is the collaborative action of meeting the needs of current and future generations of humans and ecosystems through conservation, regenerative use of resources, action for social justice, and attention to a vibrant economy. At Fort Lewis College, we are committed to an integrated model of sustainability that includes, but is not limited to, academics and research, student leadership and campus culture, the physical campus and its structures, planning and administration, and service to our community and planet. Sustainability is action.

Sustainability in academics
One great way to be active in your own sustainability efforts is to study in a field that focuses on sustainability. There are a lot of approaches from sociology, to law, to earth sciences, but one great place to start at FLC is with the Environment & Sustainability department.
