About Gretchen Dubit
Gretchen moved to Durango in 1989 with her husband and one dog. She started teaching in the Developmental Writing program at FLC after being a middle and high school English teacher in Durango schools.
She just published her first book, "Under the Oak Tree," and has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers, including Paddler magazine, Her Sports, American Whitewater, Mushing Magazine, and "Ignited Hearts, Inspiring Hopes," a collection of essays.
When not teaching English, you can find Gretchen biking, skiing, or taking tourists dogsledding in the backcountry for Durango Dog Ranch, which she operates with her husband, two teenagers, twenty-five dogs, two cats, and one fish.
