About Dr. Cathy Hartney
Cathy Hartney is a senior lecturer in the Biology Department at Fort Lewis College. She joined the college in 2002 as an instructor in the Writing Program and joined the Biology Department full time in 2007. Dr. Hartney advises pre-veterinary students and is a practicing veterinarian whose interests include animal and human anatomy, physiology, and disease, writing and pedagogy in the sciences. Dr. Hartney is the past activities coordinator for the Mathematics Foundations and STEM Success Title III grant.
Dr. Hartney has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County, Durango Community Shelter and Safe House, and the Girl Scouts.
