Nick Ward grew up in Spokane, Washington, and earned a B.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources from Gonzaga University. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. While attending law school, Nick interned at Voya Investment Management, in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona, and at the Investment Company Institute (an industry group representing regulated investment funds).
After law school, he joined Dechert LLP as an associate in the firm's financial services group in Washington, D.C. While at Dechert, Nick advised investment advisers, registered investment companies, and their boards of directors on regulatory, compliance, and business matters.
He is an Assistant Vice President of Counsel at Voya Investment Management Firm's mutual fund legal department. Throughout his career, he has mentored junior associates and law school students. In his free time, Nick enjoys trying new foods, snowboarding, and adventuring in the mountains with his pup, Puko, and his partner, Stella.
