How well can you explain your research to others, whether they are in your field or outside of it?

Great public speaking skills enhance our ability to educate, inspire and persuade others.  Effective public speaking helps us articulate our ideas clearly, and it also boosts confidence.  Here at Fort Lewis College, almost all students engage in some type of research, particularly during their senior year.  This spring, as we approach the Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium & Awards Gala, which is taking place on April 24, 2025, you are invited to participate in a series of "Communicating Your Research" workshops.  The first one is happening on February 6th, from 12:30 to 2 pm in the Senate Chambers. which is located in the Student Union, past the welcome desk.  We'd love for you to join us!  Come with your research ideas and some enthusiasm, and we'll get you started on how to prepare an excellent 10-minute presentation about the awesome research you have been doing. There will be food!
