Shoutouts

Ashley went above and beyond to help me get a class sorted out and made sure to follow up multiple times! Absolutely beautiful human!

A senior student came to me telling me how wonderful Ashley had been helping her sort out a class issue that no one else had been able or willing to follow through on. Ashley stayed on it and figured it out, and this soon-to-be graduating student will be forever grateful. Thank you for being student-centered!

Brent is a valuable member of Fort Lewis and is always willing to help other departments. His dedication to his trade and the campus is amazing! Thankful as always.

I enthusiastically nominate Bruce for his exceptional support and dedication as a faculty member. His welcoming approach and collaboration were key to me being able to take his course as a staff member. Throughout the course, Bruce's professionalism and genuine care for students created an environment where learning thrived. His adept coordination of guides and clear communication transformed a complex course into a smooth and impactful experience. This nomination reflects Bruce's outstanding contributions to our learning community.

Jlyn always goes out of their way to provide excellent customer/student support & service! Well beyond what is required for their job. We are lucky to have Jlyn.

I am nominating Dr. Joseph Nibley for his unwavering support of students with disabilities. Upon receiving letters of eligibility from the Accessibility Resource Center, Dr. Nibley sends a warm and encouraging email to students welcoming them to his class. His tone is always positive and thoughtful, encouraging students to meet with him to discuss how he may be of support to assist students in reaching their educational goals. His approach demonstrates his commitment to inclusive practices and placing students at the center. Thank you, Dr. Nibley.

Kathryn jumped right into her advising position with enthusiasm. She goes above and beyond to serve every athlete on campus and provides each of them with focused, individualized attention.

Kiki was so patient with students who were learning about the documents and tools for planning events on campus. She helped create a learning experience that empowered the students to be involved and make decisions.

Nonette's recent work on a detailed NSF survey of FLC research activity demonstrated she was able to complete significant additional work (Banner and Workday). She teamed with others to source information and get this submitted a week early.

Olivia was helpful and responsive to a student's concern, even when she was super busy with Census. She was considerate of the impact on the student and acted with a sense of urgency to find the best solution.

Paulinda is always very willing to help solve a payroll issue while maintaining a very positive attitude. With the implementation of Workday, she has been a huge asset not only to me and the department I work in, but for the whole institution.

Living on campus, I can see the work the PPS snow removal team puts in to ensure sidewalks and parking lots are clear. They were here nearly all day Sunday and Monday clearing out the snow and some pulling duties above and beyond their position. Thank you to all who were here early in the morning to make sure campus is safe.

Scott has been so helpful with the tools needed for students to plan and compete in the Hawk Tank Business Plan Competition. Scott responds quickly and sees how our external communication plays a role in the program's success.

We had an issue with outlets in a room with a student with medical needs. Tommy came right over and fixed it and also showed the students useful information about some outlets in their room. Tommy is a wonderful asset to campus life!

Tyrone was very willing to help resolve a very messy situation that was happening in Workday. He was very helpful and professional while getting the problem solved. I couldn't have gotten the situation remedied without his guidance.
