Recognize a colleague with a Fli-Hi Award

Want to show your appreciation for a fellow employee’s hard work? The Fli-Hi Award is a simple way to give them the recognition they deserve. Just follow these three steps:

  1. Download the Fli- Hi Award (PDF)
  2. Fill in the downloaded form and Save it with a different file name
  3. Upload it to Human Resources secure website
  4. We send a copy to you, the recipient, the recipient's supervisor, and put in the employee’s files

Each month, Fli-Hi Award recipients will also be celebrated in a campus-wide spotlight! Thank you for supporting and encouraging the amazing work happening at Fort Lewis College. Let’s keep building each other up.

Shoutouts

Alizabeth Williams in accounting went above and beyond helping close out an international per diem issue and closing out a Spend Authorization. She resolved my issue rather than referring me to somebody else (like so many others on campus have done). She ROCKS!

No matter the task, Critter is always gracious with his time and happily pitches in to support any team member. His positive attitude, caring nature, and giving spirit make him such an asset to FLC and the Advancement Office. We are so lucky to have him as a co-worker.

I was about to fall victim to a very convincing email scam. The ruse was a free piano and you only had to pay for shipping. I should have known better, but my guard was down as I was going through a mountain of Spring Break emails. David promptly alerted me to the scam. He saved me a lot of money and reminded me of how important it is to stay vigilant with cybersecurity. I'm very thankful to David and impressed by how well he does his job.

Elijah was paying attention when he smelt an unknown odor coming from the Camp Hall Laundry room. He didn't see anything when he checked, but as soon as he heard the fire alarm he returned to the laundry room and could see smoke. Elijah opened the dryers, which were overpacked, and emptied them making sure there was no fire. Elijah coordinated getting students from Camp into other buildings as we waited for the Fire Department to keep them warm. Nice work.

Irene is a true example of excellent customer service. I told her about a soap dispenser not working in the ladies restroom CHEM 134, and she fixed it immediately, followed up to tell me she did it, and always has a beautiful smile whenever I see her. Thank you so much, Irene, you ROCK!

Jacob has been a valuable asset to the financial aid office. He is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. I am especially impressed with his eagerness to learn about ADA accessibility and his enthusiasm to help us update our financial aid forms. He is a strong team player.

Mallory always goes the extra mile to support our students! She is a remote worker with a lot on her plate but made sure to attend Countdown last week and help our graduating students. She is one of the most dedicated people I've ever worked with, and we're lucky to have her on our team in the RO!

Nonette is truly a grant subject matter expert for post-award. I can always rely on her to respond promptly with accuracy and insight on all grant-related questions. She demonstrates excellence and dedication in her work!

Everyone at the post office is always so friendly. Richard always has a smile on his face and Soko is always willing to answer all my questions. Thank you both for providing great services!

Ruthie brings an abundance of enthusiasm to FLC Human Resources. She fits seamlessly into the office and has made a positive impact from day one. Thank you for helping process 79 Fli Hi awards last month!

Sue's contribution to Financial Aid and to the students on campus makes a big difference. Putting students at the center and quality of service is incredibly important to her. You can see this in her interactions with students, in the way she emphasizes FLC student successes, and the way she ensures every detail is taken care of by working with everyone in the office. She asks hard questions that help our office to improve and find inefficiencies. She is at the forefront of holiday decorating that boosts morale for staff and students. Sue's presence is felt by all, and we are all better for it.
