Annual Employee Award winners

Recognize a colleague with a Fli-Hi Award

Want to show your appreciation for a fellow employee’s hard work? The Fli-Hi Award is a simple way to give them the recognition they deserve. Just follow these three steps:

  1. Download the Fli- Hi Award (PDF)
  2. Fill in the downloaded form and Save it with a different file name
  3. Upload it to Human Resources secure website
  4. We send a copy to you, the recipient, the recipient's supervisor, and put in the employee’s files

Each month, Fli-Hi Award recipients will also be celebrated in a campus-wide spotlight! Thank you for supporting and encouraging the amazing work happening at Fort Lewis College. Let’s keep building each other up.

Shoutouts

Emily
Has been a pillar of our office the past few months. She has assisted in working with donors across campus, stewarding gifts, and honoring their gifts as intended. She works tirelessly to assist with events throughout the summer and is such a bright light to work with. She deserves the world, but the best I can do is nominate her for a Fli-Hi!!!

Felipe
Went above and beyond during our new employee orientation by troubleshooting an issue with the presentation clicker. This was completely outside his normal job duties, and rather than turning me away, he walked across campus to offer assistance. Thank you, Felipe!

Hayden
Has taken ownership of his areas and more. His efforts on game day experience have directly led to huge improvements across the board. The work he is doing is meaningful to our student-athletes and the Durango community. Great job, Hayden. Thank you for all that you do.

Leah
Is an invaluable team member for Physics & Engineering—and the College! She shares her "how-to" expertise daily and is always available to lend a hand, supporting faculty, staff, and students in addition to her busy role. I would not be as successful in my job as I am without her incredible patience, training, and insights. (I would also like to recognize Leah's dog, Bailey, for her dedication to warmly greet visitors and provide emotional support to all!)

Lorraine
Thank you for assisting the Parade of Homes and its committee in the event, bringing student talent to assist, and providing invaluable service.

Mike
Was able to troubleshoot and fix the issue in West that was making the building excessively hot and humid. It might have just been another job in his day, but it was very appreciated by the staff and residents.

Monica
Is always going above and beyond. She takes care of her buildings and is there to help out when we are down custodians. Monica always keeps her supervisor informed about any incidents and events. Thank you, Monica, for being an excellent team member!

Olivia
This week, as the 120 students in BIO 235 needed to settle into their academic/athletic/work schedules, I sent Olivia numerous requests to switch students from one lab section to another so every student could be in the lab section that worked best for them. Olivia responded to every request quickly, completing every one within hours or even minutes. The students who were hoping to make a switch were, without exception, very, very grateful. Olivia doesn't get to see the look on their faces, but I do. So I want her to know this makes a difference!!

Steve
Was instrumental in resolving a long-standing technology issue for Career Services. He patiently explained the problem to me and willingly met with our representative to ensure it was addressed. I'm grateful for his expertise and support!

Sue
I've gotten an unusual number of last-minute, high-stress students with questions only financial aid can solve. Sue is reliable, knowledgeable, and has the calming ability to explain confusing concepts to students (and to me). She's patient and kind and understands the need for quick answers sometimes. I soooo appreciate all she has done at FLC over the years. Never leave, Sue. Never leave.
