Orientation dates & details

First-year students

• Orientation is mandatory for all first-year students
• If you did not attend a summer orientation, your must attend orientation on Saturday, August 24
• Compass students and soccer and football players will attend an August 11 Orientation (automatically registered)

Orientation schedule for Saturday, August 24

Student Orientation schedule Yellow Group (Last names A-K)

• 8:30 to 9 a.m. - Check in at the Whalen Gymnasium
• 9 to 9:30 a.m. - Skyhawk Bingo in the Whalen Gymnasium
• 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. - Business of Being a Student in the Whalen Gymnasium
• 10:30 to 11 a.m. - Community of Care in the Whalen Gymnasium
• 11 a.m.  to noon - Find Your Classroom Tour
• noon to 1 p.m. - Lunch at the San Juan Dining Hall
• 1 to 2 p.m. - Community Services Fair at the Student Union Plaza

Student Orientation schedule Blue Group (Last names L-Z)

• 10:30 to 11 a.m. - Check in at the Student Union
• 11 to noon - Lunch at the San Juan Dining Hall
• noon to 1 p.m. - Community Services Fair at the Student Union Plaza
• 1 to 1:30 p.m. - Skyhawk Bingo in the Whalen Gymnasium
• 1:45  to 2:15 p.m.- Business of Being a Student in the Whalen Gymnasium
• 2:30 to 3 p.m. - Community of Care in the Whalen Gymnasium
• 3 to 4 p.m. -Find Your Classroom Tours

Events for all new students, regardless of what orientation they attended

• 4 to 5 p.m. -Transfer Student Hike, meet at the Chapel
• 4 to 7 p.m. - Skyhawk Student Mixer at the Clock Tower Quad

Family Orientation (for families that did not attend Summer Orientation)

• Time:
  • Yellow group (student last name A-K) starts at 8:30 a.m. 
  • Blue group (student last name L-Z) starts at 10:30 a.m.
