Title:

Chief Ouray, Ute, portrait photo?
Date/circa:  1900/1930
Photographer: Walker Art Studio (Montrose, Colo.)
Subjects: Chief Ouray--Portraits; ; ; Ute Indians--Photographs;
Notes: Possible portrait photo of a young Chief Ouray sitting in a chair with a carved column in the background. His hands are on his knees, there is a walking stick leaning against him and his hair is braided into two ponytails that drape over his shoulders.The sleeve states this could be a young Chief Ouray, but looking at other photos of Ouray, this individual does not quite look like Chief Ouray. Two numbers written on sleeve 1585 and (more recently) 358. Also typed on sleeve is "Chief Ouray when young ?"
Negative#: 2506
