 Kate Suazo, FLC alumna, social justice advocate has been named inaugural Director of Belonging at FLC.

Now in its third year, Monitoring Environmental Microbiome program participants dive into complex computational analysis of environmental justice issues.

More than 80 graduates participated in this year's Diversity Collaborative Graduation Celebration. The Collaborative includes the Black Students Center, the El Centro de Muchos Colores, the Gender and Sexuality Center and the Native American Center.

“With a 27-year tenure of service to our College, Steve has the historical wisdom, financial acuity, political networks, and hard-earned trust of the Skyhawk community,” said Mary Rubadeau, chair of the FLC Board of Trustees, in an email to campus. “Steve will build upon our momentum as we launch the search for a permanent president.”  

Growing up, Gabby James (Biochemistry, ’19) saw few healthcare providers who looked like her. A member of the Diné Tribe, James is striving to change that for future generations. She’s one step closer thanks to a full-ride scholarship to the University of Wisconsin’s Physician’s Assistant program.
