The Colorado Department of Higher Education has recognized Fort Lewis College as a 2024 First Generation-Serving Campus. The award acknowledges FLC’s membership in the FirstGen FORWARD Network with the Center for First Generation Student Success.
This annual honor is based on student enrollment and membership in the Network and highlights FLC’s commitment to helping first-generation students succeed in college and their careers.
“The First Generation-Serving Campus Designation acknowledges the great work your institution has already accomplished in the area of access. We are excited to see how Fort Lewis College will continue to expand high-impact practices to support first-generation students and create further opportunities for them to thrive, both academically and personally,” said Executive Director Angie Paccione, Ph.D. “The Department is honored to partner with institutions like yours that make Colorado’s higher education system a place where all students can succeed.”
“This designation shows our dedication to supporting first-generation students and their unique contributions,” said Vice President of Diversity Affairs and Acting Dean of Students Heather Shotton. “We are honored to join the FirstGen FORWARD Network and work with the Department to help these students thrive.”
