Fall Convocation, the start of the school year at Fort Lewis College, will take place on Friday, August 24 at 4 p.m. in Whalen Gym. The Convocation Address will be given by Fort Lewis College President Dene Thomas.

Fall Convocation is a tradition at Fort Lewis College that brings the incoming freshman class and transfer students, along with their families, together in one place for a special welcome to campus. Among others, the new students get to hear from their student body president, Faculty Senate president, and, of course, President Thomas.

As Fort Lewis College has undergone growth and change, both in the last few years and over the last century, President Thomas will use her address to explain a little about the evolution of FLC and give the newest Skyhawks an idea of what awaits them over their academic career.

Following Fall Convocation, the Convocation Picnic will be held near the FLC Amphitheatre. All new freshmen, transfer students, and their families are welcome to attend and meet their new professors and classmates.
