FLC on Facebook launched for students!

Fort Lewis College is now offering a private Facebook community just for admitted and current students to make friends, share interests, and get involved on campus. Inigral’s Schools App on Facebook, allows students to create a separate “college only” profile to help students get connected to their virtual campus community.

“We chose to offer this service to our students due to the many functions that it encompasses,” said Lindsay Nyquist, Fort Lewis College’s Social Media Coordinator. “Students can take place in discussions specific to classes, residence halls, majors, or interests and make strong social connections. It’s great that it is housed within Facebook, a format most students are comfortable using, but is separate from their personal Facebook accounts. I think this tool will be especially powerful for newly admitted students who are eager to connect with their future classmates, but may be separated geographically.”

The new application launched on Thursday, November 1 for all currently enrolled and admitted students. Students will be invited by emails to their Fort Lewis College email address, or can visit app.fortlewis.edu directly. An FLC on Facebook app is available for iPhone at the iTunes Store; non-iPhone users can utilize the mobile website.
