DURANGO – Women’s History Month at Fort Lewis College will feature a number of presentations for 2015. Below is information on two of the events planned for March.
On Tuesday, March 10, a showing of “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry” will be held in Noble Hall, Rm. 130 at 6 p.m. The film follows the women who founded and contributed to the women’s movements of the 1960s and 1970s. This event is free and open to everyone.
The following Tuesday, March 17, the FLC Native American Center Speaker Series welcomes Dr. Andrea Smith to campus. She will speak on “Transforming Justice: Gender Violence & Community Accountability” at 6 p.m. in Noble Hall, Rm. 130. This talk is also free and open to everyone.
Dr. Smith is a professor at the University of California at Riverside and a founder of INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence, the Boarding School Healing Project, and the Women of All Red Nations Chicago Chapter.
