Joslynn Lee, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Chemistry, received $14,884 from the University of Alaska Anchorage, for the “Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) flexible LCC2 Community funds.”

Kaitlin Mattos, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Environment and Sustainability, received $250,000 from the Walton Family Foundation for the “Tribal Water Media Fellowship Program to diversify the voices and professionals that communicate to the public about water issues.”

Yiyan Li, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Physics & Engineering, received $75,000 from the US Environmental Protection Agency for “An Open-Source Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) System for the Rapid and Accurate Detection of Bacteria from Environmental Water Samples project.”

Mary Shepherd, Director, Small Business Development Center received $100,000 from the US Small Business Administration through the Colorado Department of Economic Development and International Trade (COEDIT) to fund SBDC activities in 2024.

The Fort Lewis College Board of Trustees recently announced the composition of a 15-member Presidential Search Committee.

The Colorado Sun highlights Team USA Olympic mountain biker Savilia Blunk (ATT '18-21) among the Durango-trained cyclists who are competing in the Olympics in France this year. Blunk said that riding for the FLC Cycling Team and training in Durango fired her passion for the bike, improved her riding skills, and shaped her career trajectory.   

The Partnership for Education and Advancement of Quantum and nano-Science (PEAQS), led by Jeff Jessing and a team of FLC faculty and staff, is one of 11 collaborative research groups nationwide to receive six more years of funding from the National Science Foundation. The team will receive $4.2 million over that period. (NSF).
