How to join the college cycling team

As a FLC Cycling athlete/scholar, you can expect...

  • Weekly club meetings including guest speakers and/or presentations
  • Daily group training rides Inter-squad races and time trials
  • Home races: mountain biking in the Fall, cyclocross in Winter, and road in the Spring
  • Travel to Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference and National Collegiate Championships in road, mountain biking, and cyclocross
  • Access to professional cycling coaches and training programs
  • Involvement in Durango community and active support from the Durango Wheel Club, Durango Trails, local bike shops, and other businesses & non-profits
  • Local races such as the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, Enduros, Crits, TT's Short Tracks, BMX, and a CX series
  • Opportunity to learn from locals current and former collegiate, professional, and Olympic cyclists
  • Mentoring of the Durango DEVO Junior Team

Costs

  • $1,000 fundraising commitment per year
  • Must have own equipment (except for some specialty bikes)
  • Purchase an FLC Cycling jersey

Requirements

  • Academic Requirements
    • No academic, financial, or disciplinary holds
    • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
    • Enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits per semester
  • Other Requirements
    • Adhere to the FLC Cycling Code of Ethics
    • Assist with races and fundraising
