Make a difference with student-driven environmental projects

At the Environmental Center, students lead the charge in creating a more environmentally and socially responsible world. Through hands-on projects that tackle critical environmental and social issues, our programs empower students to foster change on campus and beyond. From advancing sustainability initiatives to building lasting community partnerships, students will find meaningful opportunities to make a real impact—and be part of a movement for a better future.

Our collaborative efforts are guided by FLC’s Climate and Sustainability Action Plan, driving sustainable, positive change across campus and throughout the wider community. The Environmental Center connects students with opportunities to grow, learn, and lead, building a culture of environmental responsibility that radiates across the region.

Sustainability resources and community engagement

Beyond student-led projects, the EC serves as a resource for sustainability, including a branch of Reed Library with donation-based sustainability books. We host the annual Sustainability Summit and other year-round events that bring the campus and community together around shared goals. Stay informed and get involved by signing up for the EC Digest, which highlights sustainability-focused events, jobs, internships, and workshops.
