What does it mean to be a human living in this world? Maybe a better question would be, what does it NOT mean to be a human in this world? There’s so much that goes into our experience! An infinite amount, really. Through bearing witness to ourselves and our realities, we explore our own human-ness. This is a rich process that leads to self-understanding and growth. This is a journey of great importance. And this is a path that is easier to take when you have someone to walk alongside you.

That’s why I’m here, to bear witness and provide company on that journey. I came to this profession after working multiple jobs mentoring teens in various settings, ranging from backcountry, university, semester high school, and residential substance use treatment. My takeaway from those roles was the importance of connection at times of great transition. And what is life but a series of transitions!

My counseling approach is strengths-based and rooted in compassion. My theoretical training is in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and professional interests include working with concerns around adoption, LGBTQIA2S+, religion/spirituality and nature-based healing.

I moved to Durango from the Midwest, where I grew up. I enjoy being outside in any shape or form, and especially love cross-country skiing and road biking! I also am passionate about making art, reading, and community engagement.
