Hi there! Originally from Dallas, Texas, I made my way to Durango in 2021 after completing my M.S. in Applied Clinical Psychology. I began my adventure at FLC as the Office Manager at the Counseling Center and now am so excited to be the Professional Advocate and Case Manager here at FLC. I am passionate about providing confidential, compassionate, and accessible trauma-informed advocacy and case management to students at Fort Lewis College. If you are wondering what advocacy and case management could look like, look at the descriptions below!

Before I made the move to Durango, I spent time as a Qualified Mental Health Professional at a community mental health organization where I provided case management and skills training to youth and their families. While in my master's program, I worked as a student therapist with a focus on post-traumatic stress and trauma informed approaches for care.

When I am not at the Fort, you can find me out hiking, taking pictures of the world around me, or dancing any chance I get. The very best days are spent with my partner Eli, our dog, Tofu, and our two cats Leeloo and Monkey.

What is Advocacy?

Advocacy primarily focuses on providing emotional support, guidance, and resources to individuals who have experienced trauma, such as survivors of sexual assault, interpersonal violence, or stalking. Some of the advocacy services that we offer are support in reporting to Title IX or police, safety planning, aid in navigating legal systems, court accompaniment, academic advocacy, basic needs support, and ongoing case management.

Advocacy is tailored to each individual and what they want and need in that moment. I strive to meet each person where they are and support their choices in their healing journey.

What is Case Management?

Case management is also tailored to each person’s needs but is not limited to survivors of trauma. Some of the services I can provide are coordination of mental health services, medication management (in partnership with one of our providers), skills training, academic support, resource navigation, and basic needs assistance. If you are seeing a counselor at the FLC Counseling Center, we will work together to provide you with the best care.

This is not an exhaustive list. If you are curious about case management and have questions on how this could look for you, please reach out to the Counseling Center to schedule a time to chat.
