This LGBTQIA2S+ allyship education program will educate participants on the various identities that make up the LGBTQ+ umbrella and concepts related to sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, pronouns, and more!
We will practice practical applications of concepts like gender inclusive pronouns and practices, and discuss current events impacting students. Currently, SafeZone is divided into 3 parts, each of which are 1 hour: Queer 101, Trans 101, and Current events & Practical Applications.
To receive SafeZone certification, participants must complete one session of each section. This training is intended for those who are interested in supporting the LGBTQIA2S+ community and should not be made mandatory. If you would like to participate in a Fall 2024 SafeZone training, please email Al Wolfe (they/them).
