Orion: Shot of the constellation Orion. You can see M42 and, more faintly, the flame and (tiny) horsehead nebulae, and barely Barnard's Loop.
Date: November 2009
Equipment: Canon 50D with 18-200mm zoom lens at ~30mm. Tracking (unguided) image on a Meade LXD-55 mount.
Exposure: 17xfour minutes. Set at ISO 1600, and f5.6.
Processing Notes: Adjusted color balance, levels and curves in Photoshop.
Additional Comments: There were faint, thin clouds passing overhead. I did not see them until looking at the images after the fact. I think most of the clouds were averaged out. The clouds prevented additional stretching.
