FLC Junior Savannah Jones is one of the College's first students to be named a Beckman Scholar by the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation. She was recently highlighted in the foundation's magazine. As a Beckman Scholar, Jones is studying polyamine biosynthesis by human gut microbes, mentored by FLC professor Jeffrey MacFarlane, PhD.

FLC was prominently featured in the 2nd Annual State of Native Agriculture Address by the Native American Agriculture Fund, a virtual event bringing together farmers, ranchers, Tribal leaders, and community stakeholders.
