To be selected as a Reisher scholar at Fort Lewis, a student must:
- Be a Colorado resident, or an out-of-state student receiving the Native American Tuition Waiver or New Mexico Reciprocal Scholarship.
- Plan to enroll in the fall as a full-time college student working toward their first four-year degree.
- Be a rising sophomore on track to complete their degree in four years
- Be an incoming transfer student from a community college entering Fort Lewis as a Junior, on track to graduate within two years.
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Complete the Fort Lewis Foundation and Departmental Scholarship general application by March 1 (continuing students) or June 1 (transfer students).
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the functional equivalent from the federal government no later than May 1.
- Demonstrate one or more of the following personal qualities: highly motivated, goal-oriented, responsible, and/or likely to make a contribution to society as evidenced by community service, leadership activities, work experience, or unusual experiences.
- Have financial need with a total unmet need of at least $6,000 but not more than $22,000 as demonstrated by their completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and financial aid file.
- Be Pell Grant eligible or have an Adjusted Gross Income within 300% of the federal poverty level based on household size.
