What sparks your curiosity? What change would you like to see in the world? Undergraduate research is your opportunity to explore a topic deeply. Talk to faculty in your department to discover what’s possible in your field—scholarly work looks different across disciplines, so start the conversation.
FLC faculty are experts in their fields and can help you find research opportunities. Reach out to professors who study topics you’re passionate about. You may need to approach multiple faculty members to find the right fit, as they balance teaching, research, and other commitments.

Many faculty carry out research during the academic year or summer. Contact your department to explore opportunities tailored to your interests.

Have a project you're proud of? Present it at the Fall Poster Symposium! Whether your work is complete, in progress, or a creative class project, all formats are welcome—including "out-of-the-box" ideas.

Every FLC major culminates in a senior project where you’ll delve deeply into your field with a faculty mentor. Need supplies? Apply for an undergraduate research grant—applications are accepted twice each semester.

Interested in continuing your education? Talk to faculty about grad school pathways, and ask our office about hosting a Grad-Undergrad Meet & Greet for your field.
Attend regional or national conferences to present your research and connect with professionals in your field. Travel grants are available to support your participation.
Apply for a Travel Grant
Share your research with a broad audience at the Spring Symposium & Awards Gala. Present your findings through oral or poster presentations, and learn from fellow students. Want extra preparation? Take the 1-credit FLC 415 Communicating Your Research course.
