At your Employee Intake Meeting, a Human Resources representative will explain the benefits package, guide you through the enrollment procedures, and answer any questions.
To prepare for this meeting, consider reviewing the college's various benefits packages. Health, dental, and life insurance become effective on your first day of employment, so you will be asked to make benefit selections during your Employee Intake Meeting.
Benefits for Classified staff at Fort Lewis College are developed and regulated by the State of Colorado. The benefits package includes health, dental, and disability programs. Faculty and Administrative Professional (Exempt) staff have a separate benefits package developed and regulated by Fort Lewis College, in part as a member of the Colorado Higher Education Insurance and Benefits Alliance (CHEIBA).
Fort Lewis College does not make contributions to Social Security. For some employees, essential decisions regarding your retirement plan will need to be communicated to HR within your first few days of employment. Participation in one of the listed retirement plans is required.
We also offer several optional tax-deferred annuity plans.
Our 2SLGBTQIA+ Faculty/Staff group comprises employees who identify as part of the broader queer community. We meet both formally and informally during the academic year and summer. We aim to create a supportive environment, meet new community members, and bring change to campus through advocacy, policy change, and harm reduction.

The mission of the Work-Life Wellness Committee is to inspire, motivate, and validate the well-being and morale of the whole self within the Fort Lewis College community.
