Kiva at Spruce Tree House

Notes: Close-up view looking into a kiva at Spruce Tree House. A gentleman is kneeling and looking at the fire pit of the kiva. Also visible is the deflector, air vent and pilasters of the kiva. According to sleeve housing the image, the man's name may be Ben.Spruce Tree House is the third largest dwelling in the park and contains about 130 rooms and 8 kivas. It housed about 80 people. Two numbers written on sleeve 1467 and (more recently) 453. Also written on sleeve is "Mesa Verde - Spruce tree H. Kiva & Ben"
