What shared drives do I have access to?
On a Windows machine press the windows button and the R key at the same time. This will open a run window. Type in \\fortlewis.edu\shares and click OK. This will bring up a window showing all shares that you have access to.
Map a drive on a Windows computer
Windows 10
- Right click the Start button and choose File Explorer
- Right click This PC and select Map Network Drive
- Change the drive letter to M: for your personal share or O: for a department share
- In the folder box type \\fortlewis.edu\shares\your username or \\fortlewis.edu\shares\acadcommon for the Acadcommon share
- If you do not know your username or the name of your shared departmental space please contact the Help Desk at 970-247-7444
Windows 7
- Right click your start button and choose open windows explorer
- On the top toolbar click tools > map network drive
- Change the drive letter to M: for your personal share or O: for a department share
- In the folder box type \\fortlewis.edu\shares\your share name (example: for your personal share type fortlewis.edu\shares\your username)
- If you do not know your username or the name of your shared departmental space please contact the Help Desk at 970-247-7444.
Map a drive on a Macintosh computer
Mac OS X
- In the Finder, on the Go menu, click Connect to Server
- In the "Server Address" box type smb://fortlewis.edu/shares
- Click the Connect button
- If prompted for a username and password, select Registered User (if available) and type in your Fort Lewis credentials
Username needs to be fully qualified by being in one of the following formats:
"username@fortlewis.edu" or "fortlewis\username"
- Once the connection is made the share will appear on your desktop
