Welcome to Orientation! This pivotal session is your gateway to the FLC community, where you'll set your class schedule, dive into campus activities, and connect with fellow Skyhawks. It's an essential step to ensure you're well-prepared and excited for your first year. Together, let's make it unforgettable!

PEAK Experiences

Do you want to make new friends before classes start? Do you enjoy the outdoors or connecting with people with similar interests? If you answered YES to either of these questions, then our PEAK Experiences are for you! These are small group experiences led by trained student leaders. And they'll be the foundation of your new community of friends, classmates, and campus life.

Orientation dates & details

Time: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

First-year students: Orientation is mandatory.

Register by choosing one of the following dates:

  • Friday, June 28 (full)
  • Monday, July 15 
  • Saturday, August 24 (alternative date for those unavailable earlier)
  • Compass students and soccer and football players will attend an August 11 Orientation 
  • Transfer Welcome is on Sunday, August 25.

August 23: New student check-in and on-campus housing move-in.

Consider attending in June or July for a smooth transition and to make the most of your Orientation experience before Move-In Day on August 23. Optional residence hall stay is available during the June and July sessions, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Orientation schedule

  • 8:30 to 9 a.m. - Check-in and light breakfast in the Student Union Ballroom
  • 9 to 9:30 a.m. - Welcome
  • 9:30 to 10 a.m. - Understanding your Degree
  • 10 a.m.  to noon - Rotating sessions
  • noon to 1 p.m. - Lunch and Student Services Fair
  • 1 to 3:30 p.m. - *Rotating sessions
  • 3:30 to 4 p.m. - Closing 
  • 4  to 5 p.m. - Open house/optional tour

*Rotating sessions include Meet with Your Advisor, Prepare for Takeoff, Understanding Your Bill, Community of Care, Student Panel, Families as Partners, Campus Safety, and Campus Partners.


PEAK Experiences programs & details

Get to know your community before classes start! Choose from hiking through the San Juan mountain range, engaging in cultural activities, rafting down the San Juan River, or getting a head start on your nursing education.

Registration is open. Spots fill up quickly for these awesome programs, so be READY!
