Restroom facilities that are available to anyone, regardless of gender identity or expression.

Transgender and non-binary individuals, people across the gender spectrum, parents or guardians of children of a different gender, and people with disabilities who might need an assistant of another gender to accompany them to the restroom.

At Fort Lewis College, we are committed to providing a welcoming and safe environment for all members of our community. We understand the importance of feeling comfortable and safe when choosing your restroom facility. Gender-inclusive restrooms foster a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible campus environment for all FLC students, faculty, and staff.

No, all are welcome to use the restroom with which they are most comfortable. This includes gender-exclusive restrooms (restrooms designated as men’s and women’s), which will continue to be available and accessible in all buildings, and single-occupancy/family restrooms.

Gender-inclusive restrooms at Fort Lewis College do not list a gender associated with the restroom, such as “men’s” or “women’s,” and have signage that indicates the facilities available in the restroom (urinals, stalls, etc.). Gender-exclusive restrooms will indicate the gender associated with them (men’s or women’s). See signage and wayfinding guide above.

The digital directories located in each building will be updated to include the location of available restrooms (gender-inclusive and gender-exclusive). List of gender-inclusive restrooms is included above.
